I don't kow about where you are located, but here in Columbus OSU football is the King of all sports. People don't plan events against home football games here because lots of people won't show up. We know people that moved wedding dates and I just wont do an auction on game day. Too much risk that nobody will come.
If that isn't enough, there are the tailgates. Today is the OSU - Michigan game. #1 vs #2. The tailgate lots opened up YESTERDAY (Friday) at 6am. Within 30 minutes, the first lot was full.
We have been cooking for two days in preparation for our tailgate. It is about 5am right now and I am up, getting ready to go down to the parking lot. So are most of my neighbors. We are off to the races, one might say....
The stadium holds about 110,000 people and over 1,000,000 are projected to be there so I guess the tailgates are going to be over the top this weekend. UHaul rentals are sold out, taxis will give you about a 1 hour window for pickup.
My partner and his brother own an old school bus that we party on.
It doesn't look like much here, but we jazz it up. It has strobe lights inside and has been turned into a dance club. Outside we put 3 tents, big screen, food tables and heaters.
2 beer taps have been drilled in the side, so you can obtain a frosty beverage by just walking up. We need to make it easy, you know. The bus was brought down an d parked last night. It was a rough one. It almost wouldn't start. We figured that out after we loaded it with all the gear. This wonderful occasion is what helped me find out that you can't geta UHaul in Columbus today. Hope nobody is moving. Well, maybe someone might move in from out of town, using out of town movers I suppose.
So, if you are anywhere near Columbus today, come on down to the game. Pick a parking lot, drop a tent and enjoy. You'd better get there soon though or you might not be able to get in.
Go Bucks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Rich,
Best of luck this is goig to be the game of the year. I don't know who to root for. I may root for Michigan as they are probably the underdog. Plus Tom Brady is an Alumni
We were invited to got to Penn State and tailgate with friends for the Michigan game Oct.14th but our son was in a motorcycle accident and our plans were cancelled. We will be going next yr. when Penn State plays OSU. Maybe you'll head down and we can have a brew or two. We'll be in our bus.
Have a great time.
Thanks Jay
LOL, True but we do a lot of beer bashing in and outside. Just can’t spill anything tho. LOL
Have a great time today. It will be a great game. Thanks Jay
Tailgate Update-- It's 7:45am. Just returned from dropping Rich off at the Party Bus. Had to take him down early, because, silly me, I didn't schedule the babysitter until 10am. Who knew that for a 3:30 game, I should have had her arrive yesterday! The parking lots are a sea of RV's and we saw folks pulling coolers from about 2 miles away. It is going to be interesting.
GO BUCKS!
Rich, I grew up about 1/2 from Notre Dame so you know who I am for this weekend but I will add there is nothing like a mid-west tailgate party at least I haven't found anything on the west coast that matches it.
Shawn
Hi Rich,
I hope you have a great time watching OSU lose.
No matter what it's going to be a sad year for Michigan.
Brenda and I use to go to the Michigan, Michgan State game each year with my partner who had his BS from one and his JD from the other, so we alternate alumni association each year. I don't think I could survive one of those charter bus trips again.
