I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good ?

I heard this last night and it got me thinking.  I'd rather be both!  But what if you could only have one?  I guess I would rather be lucky or is it good??

You roll a 7 at the craps table = lucky, but knowing how to bet = good.  Can you really capitalze on one without the other?

I guess what it comes down to is positioning yourself (good) so when the opportunity comes along (lucky) you can grab it and work it (good).

I am not so sure that you can have one without the other, but what do I know?  I am still trying to figure out that chicken and egg thing !

Rich... I gave you a 5 on this one....  Interesting, because I think of this all the time. My one boss tells me how good this loan officer is because he made a lot of money. I am thinking in the back of my head....he is not that good...he is more lucky... LOL  It's so sad but so true.

What would I rather be? Hell, I am greedy...I want both and in my opinion.... you need both. You absolutely do. Look at pro football players... Peyton Manning...better than good...but also lucky at times.

Anyhow.... if I had to pick one... I would stick with the "I am good", even though I don't make as much money this way. When I have both is when I am great... lol  My boss tells me that I have more talent in my pinky than most in this business overall have on one hand.

Hey Rich.... how is the laptop thing going? I still think about that and it stinks.

The new one is great except for the lost data.  What is really screwing me up is that my go to IT guys in on vacation for two weeks.

Not getting me too down though.  I bootstrapped a pretty good business together over the past 3 years.  I am not going to let this ruin me.

Take care.  Thanks for the 5
